In the 16 years of existence SAMET has, through its music centres, reached over 5 000 learners, and has employed over 150 teachers and 60 personnel in its community project committees.

SAMET is not just about music; it is about building friendships, creating confidence through performance and finding a new world through education in arts and culture.

SAMET was voted “Arts and Culture Education Project of the Year” in 1999 by the Arts and Culture Trust of the President. In 2004, SAMET’s CEO was voted “Arts Administrator of the Year” by the Arts and Culture Trust.
